About Pilates
Pilates is an exercise program involving proper body alignment, posture, and an emphasis on core strength which engages muscles from the inside out to create a longer, leaner body.

Pilates machines use springs rather than weights to mimic the movement and function of the body's muscles. Fluid movements and coordinated breathing naturally reduce stress and tension, so workouts leave you feeling refreshed, not exhausted. The inner strength you'll gain paired with control over breathing and balance creates a whole new sense of self for our clients.

"Contrology develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit."
- Joseph Pilates, Return to Life, 1945

Molly Lamb has been teaching Pilates since 1999. She is certified by the Physicalmind Institute and has a B.S. in Physiology from the University of Arizona.

A Bay area native, Molly gained her initial passion for movement from dance and interest in rehabilitation through working in physical therapy. This allowed her to develop a keen sense of using exercise to rehabilitate the body from acute injury to minor chronic discomfort.

Molly completed her pre- and post-natal Pilates certification with the Center for Women's Fitness in 2006, and is passionate about giving women the workout tools they need to keep their bodies strong and comfortable during pregnancy and beyond.

Molly enjoys the challenge of creating customized workouts that are safe and effective for all ages and fitness levels. She encourages her clients to explore the balance of strength and awareness that Pilates can bring to everyday life.

Sara fell in love with Pilates in 2006. A competitive athlete since she was a child, Sara participated in swimming, soccer, skiing, running, and water polo. After playing water polo in college she found that she was not happy with how bulky her muscles had became so she set out to find a workout regimen that would help her maintain her strength while creating long lean muscles. She tried many things but it wasn’t until she found Pilates that she started to notice her body dramatically changing. Sara has been hooked ever since. After three years of practice she decided she wanted to share her passion and enthusiasm for Pilates with others.

Sara is certified through Mercury Fitness under Master Trainer Lara Hudson. When she is not teaching Pilates you can find her practicing Pilates, training for triathlons, cooking and eating, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Sara feels that Pilates is like no other exercise in that it will transform your body from the inside out. She believes Pilates is a practice that ensures a healthy body and a happy mind. As Joseph Pilates says, “Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.”

Carly is an Oklahoma native who grew up loving all things sports and fitness from a young age! She was a competitive soccer player, though her true love was riding horses. Carly competed nationally and learned from a young age the importance of finding strength and control in one's own body.

Carly arrived in San Francisco in 2004, where she met her husband and started a family. After spending years focused on career and children, Carly was unhappy with how underdeveloped her muscles had become. She sought a workout program that would help regain her strength while creating beautifully sculpted muscles. Pilates provided the results she wanted, and Carly has been dedicated to Pilates ever since.

Carly is a Balanced Body certified Pilates Instructor and a member of the Pilates Method Alliance. Carly works with individuals of all ages and fitness levels to improve both flexibility and mobility, decrease pain and improve quality of life. She encourages her clients to explore the balance of strength and mobility while developing a mind-body awareness that Pilates can bring to everyday life.

Allyson's passion for Pilates began while she was a student at UCLA, where she earned a B.A. in Sociology in 1998. What started as an exercise regimen to simply get fit quickly turned into a passion for total mind and body fitness. For the last twenty years, she has continued to devotedly practice Pilates as a student and has experienced its benefits through the various stages of her life. From rehabilitation of running injuries through pregnancy and childbirth, Pilates has been her mainstay.

Over the years, it became clear to Allyson that the regular practice of Pilates was something that ALL people need and that she deeply wanted to share it with others. She saw how the brilliant combination of strength, flexibility, mobility and balance offered through the Method provides an opportunity for men and women of all ages and abilities to find a level of health that will radically improve their quality of life, just as it had hers. Thus, Allyson became a fully Certified Comprehensive Pilates Instructor through Balanced Body under the training of extraordinary Master Instructor Tom McCook.

Allyson is so excited to share her knowledge and passion for the Method that everyone may experience the myriad of benefits to their body, mind and spirit.

Corrie is so excited to join the Scoop team here in her hometown of San Mateo.

She has been passionate about the practice of Pilates since it was first introduced at her dance company in high school. Following a car crash during her first year as a Dance Major at Chapman University, she learned its value even more acutely as was instrumental in aiding her recovery and became a way of life.

Corrie is thrilled at the opportunity to contribute to the world of Pilates as a BASI certified instructor. It is an honor and a privilege!

For Lydia, cross training with movements has always been her training philosophy. Her goal is to help clients achieve a balanced body with stability, endurance, strength, power, and flexibility.

Lydia was born in Hong Kong but grew up in the Bay Area, graduating from Santa Clara University with an MBA in Marketing & International Business. After raising three kids, Lydia left her long-time career in e-Commerce Marketing to pursue her passion in Pilates & Fitness.

Lydia and her husband have been cycling together for over 30 years and they love to climb and summit - local hills, the Pyrenees and French Alps in Europe, and the Hawaiian volcanos.

When Lydia tore her ACL doing martial arts, her rehab journey allowed her to expand her cross training with 3 pillars: Pilates + Cycling + TRX. Today Lydia feels stronger than ever with a balanced body.

Certifications: Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates Instructor. NASM Certified Personal Trainer. TRX Trainer.
